I’m so impressed by the software, but a key feature for me is mobile editing.
At present, whenever I type, I have to press the space bar twice on the on screen keyboard. I also experience the same behavior with punctuation. This happens whether I use autocomplete, or press the space bar directly.
I’ve tested this with at least 2 different keyboard apps. I don’t experience this with any other apps.

Hello @gedaliyah
version 15
com.android.inputmethod.latin
versionCode 30
We need additional information about the keyboard, its configuration and the name if you installed it on your own in the past. We have tested the described scenario with default pre-installed GBoard and all things are OK. Also, do I understand it right that the issue reproduces in our mobile app only, while other editors run smoothly?
My phone did not come pre-installed with gboard. It uses the built-in Android Keyboard, created by the AOSP team (Android Open Source Project), the developer of the Android OS. The version info is above.
Does ONLYOFFICE require gboad to function?
Please let me know if there is other setting information I can share to help.
Does ONLYOFFICE require gboad to function?
No, it should work with default android one as well. What is exact android skin on your device? Not the OS, but MIUI/HyperOS/HarmonyOS, etc.
It’s Graphene.
I’ve tested other keyboards as well and found the exact same behavior. Futo as well as AnySoft. These are very different from one another so I think it’s unlikely that it’s related to the keyboard.
Are there any logs or other information that I can provide to help?
Dear @gedaliyah
Thank you for the provided details, we are checking the situation. I will contact you as soon as possible. No more additional actions required at the moment.
Hello @gedaliyah
We just have released v.8.3 for Android. Could you please update the app and re-check the situation?
Hello @gedaliyah
We have found a bug in the described scenario, and we are working on it already. Thank you for the valuable data!
Thank you for looking into this! I’ll look forward to the fix in the next release.

I believe this is why spaces do not appear when typing using swipe functionality on Gboard in the android onlyoffice app.
Hello @mikeljason
Could you please record a video file? I’m trying to figure out if this is the same case as described above, since recent internal tests with Gboard were OK.
Additionally, please let us know the exact OS and the app versions.
Hi Alexandre
I have attached a screenshot with the software info from the phone. Screen_Recording_20250313_164828_Messages.mp4 - Google Drive that’s a link to the video requested since the forum won’t left me upload it. Gboard is Version 15.0.10.717871796-release-arm64-v8a.
Please let me know if you need any further information. I really like onlyoffice and want to move to it across all platforms.
Thank you @mikeljason ,
we are checking the situation.
Dear @mikeljason
We have checked the provided scenario, unfortunately, the app doesn’t support automatic spacing in swipe typing mode.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the situation.
Is this something that will change? It’s very strange to have all my apps work the same way as relates to text entry (including this forum) except the one program I intend to use for writing.
