Fillable PDF Question (Possible Bug Report)

I uploaded a fillable PDF form into DocSpace and things looked like they were functional: I can check boxes (and uncheck them) and can click into the data entry fields. However, I noticed that if I attempt to type something into the data entry fields, I get an error popup:

"Warning: The value entered does not match the format of the field “7”

First, “7” is field I tried to enter data into, not a separate error code. Regardless of which field I try to type data into, I get the same error (just with a different field number). I can then not enter data in any other field (I can click into the field but no data is placed in the field if I try to type something in, it remains blank with just the cursor blinking). The only way to try to enter data is to reload the form but then I just get the same error issue.

  • I have tried this on both the web interface and through the OO app ( OnlyOffice Editors v8.3.3.21 (x64 exe)) on my computer with the same result.
  • I also tried changing from comment mode to edit mode on web and still get the same error.

Note: This is NOT a fillable pdf that I created. It was one I downloaded and planned on sharing with others so we could collaborate and fill the various sections out.

I also found this help article from 2023: Fillable form PDF how to edit and save online. However, I think that has more to do with creating a fillable form (again, I did not create the form - see above note).

Finally, the “File > Help > Basic Operations > Filling out a form” section indicates that pdfs can be filled out and there should be “Previous Field or Next Field buttons on the top toolbar to navigate between fields” but those are not present on the toolbars of the OO Editor or DocSpace interfaces.

Maybe this particular pdf is not compatible with OO or OO is missing some coding to recognize that it is a fillable pdf?

Any ideas would be appreciated or maybe this is bug report for OO devs to follow up on for the next version.

DocSpace version: onlyoffice/8.3.3.18
OS: Windows
Browser version: Latest Chrome (but also affects Windows app install - see above)

Hello @sporto

Is it possible to attach such file for analysis?

Hi @Constantine. I have attached the file. The form begins on page 2 and the first six fields at the top (1-6) can be filled out. Check boxes work but beginning with text entry field 7 is where I get the error.
