I have a table in a document.
I want to add pictures to the document.
I drag & drop them from the web.
OO add a huge space around the picture and refuse to make the text closer unless I uncheck (or check if it is unchecked) an option.

This space comes form the default row height which also distributes to adjacent part of the row that is transferred to the next page. By the way, the same behavior occurs in other processors if you does not use setting that prohibits separating rows that cannot be fitted on one page.
To change that you can simply put the cursor into the part of the row on second page and change its height from the right toolbar.

As mentioned here, this is not what I see in LO:
And from my standpoint, LO works more the way I expect : no weird spacing.
