Why am I not able to just delete some text?

I am just trying to delete some text in a document.

But after I select the text I want to delete and press the key, the text is not deleted.

Instead, I see pop-up boxes about ‘added’ or ‘deleted’ paragraphs, the time when those actions occurred, and other information I am not asking to be displayed.

The text I want to remove has ‘strikethrough’ but I don’t want that, I want it deleted.

Why is this happening?

Did I accidentally hit some strange key combination that changed the ‘mode’ I’m in?

Thanks.

Hello @mk7z

Can you provide a video demonstration of this behavior? Also, please let us know if this is happening with a specific document or any of your documents.

In the meantime, please check if Track Changes mode is enabled or not in Collaboration tab on the main toolbar.

Thanks. Yes, I eventually realized that I must have inadvertently activated a collaboration option and that it was ‘Track changes,’ answering my own question (“Did I accidentally hit some strange key combination that changed the ‘mode’ I’m in?”).
