Spreadsheets dates and time hotkeys not working

OS version: Windows 11 10.0.22621 Build 22621
App version: ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors version 7.2.1.36 (x64 exe package)
Downloaded from: ONLYOFFICE website

Hi everyone.

I’m new to OnlyOffice and I have to say that this is a very nice app.
But unfortunately, i’m struggling with some functions in Spreadsheets.

I was a huge user of the date and time hotkeys in MSOffice and LibreOffice, but I can’t make theme work in OnlyOffice.

The CTRL + ; and CTRL + Shift + ; aren’t doing anything.
I tried with the integrated keyboard (I work on a laptop) and on a USB one, same results.
The language of Windows is Français (France), so is the keyboard layout.

I search on the forum but no one seem to have the same issue.

Is this something new ?

Thanks.

Hello @Noopss

The combination Ctrl + is a default browser combination for zoom, so to insert date and time we are using next hotkeys:

Insert the current date Ctrl+; Insert the today date within an active cell.
Insert the current time Ctrl+⇧ Shift+; Insert the current time within an active cell.
Insert the current date and time Ctrl+; then ␣ Spacebar then Ctrl+⇧ Shift+; Insert the current date and time within an active cell.

To see full list of available hotkey combinations please refer to this official guide:

Hi @Constantine.

I don’t really understand what you mean by « in the browser ».

I said in the beginning of my post that I use de Desktop Editor.

I tried the hotkeys you listed but none of them work.

I meant that the combination “CTRL +” is used in the browser for interface scaling, since our editors are also used in server installations and accessed via browser we have changed certain combinations, in Desktop Editors too.
On the french keyboard to insert date and time currently the “CTRL+$” and “CTRL+Shift+$” combinations are used.
Sorry for misunderstanding from my side.

Hi, no problem, it happens sometimes
This. Works. PERFECTLY !

Maybe it would be good to edit this in the french “Help Center” section for the spreadsheet software ?

Thanks for your help.

I am glad that we found a way to help you.

Currently there is a discussion in progress about this.

Hello again @Noopss

Based on this case we have created a bug report number 59843 for given combinations from official guide are not working on a French keyboard.

Hi @Constantine!

I’m a german user of the desktop app. Both combinations (“Ctrl + ;” and “Ctrl + $”) don’t work there.

On the German keyboard you have to press Shift to reach “$” or “;”. So you can’t get the actual date with using “Ctrl + $” or “Ctrl + ;”, because you always have to press Shift for these combinations. When pressing Shift, you will get Date and Time (if it would work in general).

So it’s not possible to get the actual date in the spreadsheet app. This is for Excel-Powerusers like me a showstopper…

So please help us. :innocent:

Please try out this combination STRG+Ü to insert current date in the cell.

We are aware of the situation with key combinations on different keyboard layouts, e.g. German, French, etc. Once we get any news in this regard, I will update the thread.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
