As stated in the ‘subject line’, my keyboard doesn’t have an Fn key.
Is there a way to emulate that key or create/define an actual key combination that will act the same as Fn?
Hello @mk7z
What is your OS where the desktop app is installed? Also, please specify the exact shortcut that you’re trying to use
Thanks, I’m using macOS Catalina (10.15.7). I had looked through the Keyboard Shortcuts and noticed that numerous shortcuts in the “Navigation” and “Text styling” sections (& probably others I didn’t review) utilized the ‘Fn’ key.
I use an external extended keyboard because my laptop’s keyboard has many non-working keys, but it doesn’t have an Fn key.
If your external keyboard does not have Fn key, it is surely not supposed to be used with macOS. You can look up for any third-party software that would allow emulate Fn stroke when pressing any other key.
Actually, it’s the original Apple Wireless Keyboard. I got it new (never used) about two years ago when my laptop’s keyboard started requiring intense pressing of keys to get them to behave.
It’s an extended keyboard. I don’t know why the Fn key was omitted. Maybe it had not yet been used by macOS at the time.
I’m afraid there is nothing I can help you with in such case.
