I don’t know if this is the right section. I just wanted to report to the DEVELOPERS that the version of OnlyOffice Desktop Editors if installed via snap does not see the printer. Via flatpak it works perfectly. Whether it is an error in how it was packaged or a snap bug I do not know. I hope my report can be useful.
Bye
Hello @EnricoTB
Thanks for your feedback. By chance please try using following command for snap installation:
sudo snap connect onlyoffice-desktopeditors:cups-control :cups-control
This doesn’t appear to work on a Ubuntu 24.04 LTS / OO Desktop Editors 8.2.2
error: snap "onlyoffice-desktopeditors" has no plug named "cups-control"
Is there another solution? Even being aware of the “container nature” of Snapd, I’d appreciate if this problem would be solved.
I installed the app directly from the Ubuntu App Center.
Hello @holger.willenb.org
What is the usage scenario of Desktop Editors in your case? Do you have connected printers that are available to other snap apps?
The printer IS available in the Firefox (133.0.3-1) and Thunderbird (128.5.2esr-1) snap, it’s NOT available in the Chromium (131.0.6778.85) snap and in the Onlyoffice Desktop Editors snap.
Found this one about a new cups/snap integration and wondered if you’re aware and Onlyoffice Desktop Editors is setup like this
Yes, we are aware of these changes. We will review this case for additional details. I will let you know once any news come up.
