Hello everyone. I recently got onlyoffice workspace ce installed on my synology nas. I was having some issues with connecting the mx record/hostname, but I got it fixed. According to the compose provided by onlyoffice, ports 25, 143, and 587 are available to the mail server. I’ve made sure to forward port 25. I attempt to send an email out, it says sent successfully, but never receive the email. I check the logs for the mailserver and community server and theres no logs saying that it failed to be sent. I made sure that the ports were open in the firewall as well. I checked docker ps to make sure the ports were correct for each container and they are. Am I missing something? I also verified with telnet on port 25 that its accessable. I also used https://portchecker.co/ to verify that port 25 was open, which it is. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Port 25 is used by SMTP for notifications (account creation, password change, portal feed, etc.).
Do I understand it right that you’re able to send\receive emails except portal email notifications? If so, you need to check that 25 port isn’t blocked by firewall or your server hoster.
Additionally, please show us your SMTP settings > try to send test letter > collect entire Community server logs folder.
So I’m able to create an account, setup dns records mx records and all of that, but sending or receiving is a no go. Ill try and grab some logs, but when I have tried before, I never got any errors or any indication that something was sent out.

Yes, port 25 is required for proper work of Mail server: Ports which must be opened for ONLYOFFICE Mail - ONLYOFFICE
If it is blocked by the provider, it’s better to contact them to discuss the situation. Please let us know if the situation is resolved and we can check out all things from scratch.

It seems that some ports are blocked, so the aggregator cannot connect to Mail Server and download mails. Please double check these ports on your side:
They shouldn’t be blocked or occupied by other apps.
Ill have to test these again, for now I went ahead and went to another mail server. I think one of the issues, which I also had with the other mail server in the beginning, was I didn’t have a dns only A record for my mail.domain.com. Once I set this up ( I also included the ptr it provided) then I was able to send and receive without issue. I would suggest though as you already provide the dmarc, dkim, and so on with the dns setup, include the ptr that may need to be included. However, I still need to make sure some of the other ports were open as well. I thought I had all that I needed open. Thanks for links and the time. I hope all of this helps anyone else that set out on the same adventure.
