Hi
I’m currently under Zorin OS (linux).
Things are a little less smooth than with windows.
Today, connecting my computer to a video projector, I needed to change the screen resolution.
I choose a poorer resolution and all apps UI objects got bigger (normal).
However, when I switched back to a sharper resolution, all apps but OO went back to normal.
I uninstalled it, but it is still the same.
First, I though it was an OS issue, but:
all the apps are normal
a reboot changed nothing
re installing OO changed nothing (however I kept my user data).
So right now I don’t know what is the cause off the issue : an OO parameter or an OS bug (but it seems unlikely.
Thanks for your help.
Hello
THis week end I’ve switch to linux mint, and I face the same issue.
It’s as if there was a communication problem btw linux and OO regarding screen resolution.
As you can see, the title bar has a “normal” resolution (1), but all UI elements are big like on a low res scree.
When the laptop is not connected to an external screen, this back-to-the-90s UI is not my cup of tea
When OO is displayed on my external screen, everything is fine:

Desktop Editor. Settings tab is located on the main screen of the editor.

My bad I’m too much into linux tweaks right now.
Actually it is set to the default value “Auto”.
The good news is that when I change it to 100% (or another value), OO’s UI is back to normal.
After testing the other possibilities, it seems that “Auto” = 175%.
Could it be were the bug comes from ?
It was almost a blocker, now it is just something annoying -
We still unable to manage to reproduce the issue. May I ask you to elaborate on the whole sequence of actions and parameters that’ve led to this behavior? In particular are interested in following:
which desktop environment is used, e.g. Gnome, Cinnamon, Mate, KDE;
which resolution is used by default and to which it is changed when connecting to external monitor;
at which step Desktop Editor is getting launched;
when exactly the problem occurs.
I believe it’d be better to record a demo from the the main screen with step-by-step scenario that causes scaling to become incorrect.
Linux mint cinnamon, last version, without any specific add-on or tweaking,
Actually, I think we can narrow the issue down and forget the fact that it is related to an external screen or projector, as Ifaced the issue on my colleague’s laptop.
Here is a screen recording of what happens on my computer when I leave to “auto” the scaling parameter and switch it back to 100%:
