i was away when it crashed and chouldnt work on it till resently.

i updated and rebooted the normal fast fixes and it did not help.
i have a back up but it was before i left and means ill lose a protion of that work week.

the systemctl services says that its all running execpt elasticsearch which has failed with a time out.
in additon the mail aggerator has also failed.

im not really familiar with this program so ive made a post to ask for help.

ive tryed a few more things but i hope some might be able to offer me a hand here.

Hello @thomaswood
Please point me to the guide which you used for Workspace\Groups installation. Did you use docker or package installation?
Please provide us with screenshots of the error and whole Community server logs folder. It’s located here:
docker - /app/onlyoffice/CommunityServer/logs/
packages - /var/log/onlyoffice/

hey there, i manually installed the program using the following offical doc’s guide: Installing ONLYOFFICE Groups for Debian, Ubuntu, and derivatives - ONLYOFFICE
manual install not the script.

you said you wanted the log folder so ive posted it below but ill post the one you want when you ask.
also thanks for the help i was worryed i was not gonna get a reply.
i should meantion that the vast majorty of the logs are onlyoffice contantly trying to restart and failing which is why there a lot.

If it’s possible, please provide us with whole logs folder. I’ve increased your forum level, so you can contact me via PM now.
If you can’t provide us with whole logs, let’s start with web.log and web.api.log files.
Additionally, please go to the host and check out Mono service status (service monoserve status). If it’s necessary, restart the service.

sure ill do that if i can, i needed to put the service back up so after discussion i just made a seperate instance installed with the docker installation script and that been put up since yesterday with out the data being transfered, being able to extract the data still on the older instance and transfering it would be a solution, but i still want to know how to fix this myself for future errors that might occur.
service monoserve status is fine, it says it is active

it does have that same stoped, starting, started. thing that most of the onlyoffice services
are doing on this instance.
ill send the folder in a bit.

hey can you offer me some clarity on what you mean by “upload the folder”. i can only upload some file types and im not sure what exactly you want me to do as i would perfer to offer the whole log as you request.

the ones you wanted to start with are web.log:

Please try to restart Mono service just in case. About the logs, you can place them to any external storage and provide us with download link. The whole logs folder would be preferred.

A few more things. What actions preceded occurrence of an error? Did you change anything on the server side? Additionally, please let us know if the portal is available via ip address.

hey there sorry about the late reply i was away,
restarting the mono service does nothing sadly.

link to the full folder extracted and hosted on my local netcloud server: Nextcloud

i wasnt there during the week that it went down, and when i asked no one said that they chould do any thing or did anything that week becuase it was down. the users have said nothing unusual happened before the failure.
if you can help me out here i would appreciate.

Hello @thomaswood

Thank you for the logs. We will analyze those and I will inform you about the results.
Also, I’d like to know what is the status of portal at the moment? Don’t forget to provide this:

at the moment the error is still 502.

yeah its available, if you mean i can reach it from the local network but its still 502 app crash when acessed locally so im pretty sure its not a nginx thing.

I can see errors related to the database in logs:

Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'

Where there any manipulations with the database?
Also provide information about the storage capacity and amount of RAM of the machine where Groups app is installed.

yeah ive seen that error before when i looked myself before coming to ask. the installation process just made the sql database user and passwords for me, so i cant imagine a mismatch, or somthing as simple as failing to give pemissons or the right passwords. it did work for 3 weeks after all. since i havent messed around with that i thought id just ask this forum.

at the moment the server has 4 cores 6gb ram 40gb storage. (i know the reconmended is higher but its only taken 37% of the storage space so i havent rasied it and i need that space for other services) i also raised the ram from 4gb to 6gb after the error to see if that was at fault and it did not change anything.

I’m sorry for the late response.

Please try connecting to the database with command mysql -u root -p[pass]. Password you can find in web.connections.config config located in /var/www/onlyoffice/WebStudio/. This will give us a small insight on the issue with database.

Additionally, please check RAM consumption on your machine with command free -m or with htop monitor.
