Good news, everyone!
We have updated the official ONLYOFFICE integration app for Confluence to version 5.0.0. With the updated connector, now you can fill out PDF forms and annotate PDF files, configure the JWT header and recognize other users by their avatars in the editors. Read this post to learn more about this release.
Create and fill out PDF forms
PDF has become the standard format for ONLYOFFICE fillable forms since the release of version 8.0. Now you can create complex PDF forms with interactive fields and fill them out online using the functionality of the ONLYOFFICE suite right in your Confluence platform.
You can create a new DOCXF template from scratch and turn it into a fillable PDF file via the editor’s interface. Alternatively, you can use the Create form using ONLYOFFICE option.
Your DOCXF template will be converted to PDF, and you will be able to complete the form in your browser and save or download the completed form using the Save as PDF option on the top toolbar.
Annotate PDF files
Besides fillable PDF forms, the updated ONLYOFFICE connector also provides some basic editing features, allowing you to annotate PDFs. For example, you can highlight, underline and even strike through text in your file. Additionally, you can leave comments and draw different objects and lines with the built-in drawing tools.
Configure the JWT header
In the settings of the updated connector, there is a new option which allows you to configure the ONLYOFFICE and Confluence integration more precisely. You can use the default JWT authorization header or enter your own one in the corresponding field. The standard value is Authorization.
Read this post to find out more about JWT and how this technology protects your documents.
Where to find: Administration -> Manage apps -> Confluence ONLYOFFICE integration app -> Configure -> Authorization header
Improved validation of the server settings
Another useful feature in the ONLYOFFICE connector for Confluence is the ability to check if the integration app has been configured correctly. Now you just need to specify all the parameters in the ONLYOFFICE server settings and click Save. If something is wrong (for example, the address of ONLYOFFICE Document Server is invalid), you will see an error message.
User avatars for better document collaboration
For more convenient document collaboration, the ONLYOFFICE connector for Confluence allows you to visualize other users’ avatars so that you can see who else is working on your document at this moment.
Other improvements
- Compatibility with Confluence 8.8;
- Improved date format in the version history;
- Implementation of ONLYOFFICE Docs Integration SDK for better performance;
- Chinese localization.

*Note: if you update to version 5.0.0 via the Confluence Marketplace, you will have to enter and save the settings of your ONLYOFFICE Document Server again due to the migration to ONLYOFFICE Docs Integration SDK. In future versions, you won’t need to do that.
