Linux command 'nohup' not correctly working , when launching OO-DesktopEditors

OnlyOffice-desktopeditors : version 8.1.1
Linux Ubuntu : version 24.04 LTS

Hi,
From the Terminal application, I want to launch OnlyOffice and type :
nohup onlyoffice-desktopeditors &

OO is correctly launched, but closing my terminal session forces OO to terminate ( that behavior does not occur for example, with ‘nohup firefox &’ ).

Any idea to solve this problem ?

Hello @HDubail

Please additionally specify how Desktop Editors were installed? E.g. from DEB package, AppImage, flatpak, etc.

Hello,
Desktop Editors was installed from the Snap Store Ubuntu.

Mind you running a test and installing it via Deb packages to see if the same behavior occurs?
By the way, Firefox is also installed via Snap?

Hello,

Firefox : it was installed too from the Ubuntu snap store.

OnlyOffice :

  • Test 1 : After having uninstalled the snap version and reinstalled a deb version, the command runs properly ( ie when I close the terminal session, the OO process stays alive ).
  • Test 2 : after having uninstalled the deb version and reinstalled the snap version, the command runs always properly (!)
-Test 3 : I reinstall Ubuntu 24.04, apply all the system updates and then reload OO from the snap store : now the command runs properly

I think the behavior is now right after reinstallation of the system and I can close this subject.
