Do you want to: Report a bug
Hi,
I found issue with printing to PDF in OnlyOffice. The result of build in feature called “Print to PDF” give a different result than regular method: Print → Microsoft Print to PDF
Here is link to video on OneDrive (I can’t uppload attachment as a new User): Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.
OS version: Windows 10 22H2
App version: 7.4.0.163 (x64 exe)
Downloaded from: ONLYOFFICE website
Hello @scorek1
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue with given file. The difference between the output PDFs is barely noticeable.
Could you re-do the test and check if these PDFs have differences in a browser?
Hi @scorek1,
Just out of curiosity, I opened your spreadsheet in OnlyOffice.
- I set the “Print Area” from A1 to S42.
- I set “Scale to Fit” to Width / 1page
And then did “Save as…” as PDF.
It seemed to work okay, except the right border was a little too thin as it was cropped by the print area, which I have encountered before, even in Excel.
So I made column T quite narrow.
The set the "Print Area from A1 to T43.
Then did “Save as…” as PDF again.
Spot on
What you should note is the Microsoft’s Print to PDF renders each page as a JPG image file, and scales each of the image files to fit on the PDF page.
When you “Save as…” a PDF, the resultant PDF is “built” (Adobe call it “distilling”) so that the text in the PDF is selectable, and even editable. So the formatting of the two print types may have some variation.
So I might suggest that try again, and make sure “Print Area” and “Scale” are set to attempt a better result.
