How to write custom functions?

Hello.
Is there any way to write custom functions which may be then used in formulas?

Said I want to implement md5 function and use it then like ‘=md5(A1)’.
I will be very grateful for the example and/or documentation how to achieve this.

Currently, there is no way to add custom functions to our editors.
The suggestion to implement possibility to add custom functions is registered as enhancement number 51736 in our internal tracker but, unfortunately, we do not have estimated date of the release of this feature.
