How to view drop-down Data Validation list in spreadsheets?

Additional information: I have a workbook that I want to use to create a dropdown list in, using data validation from the second sheet/tab in the workbook. In the first sheet/tab, I want to be able to click on given cells within a specific column and select an option from a dropdown list, which is pulled from data in the second sheet/tab.

While I have set up data validation correctly, when clicking on cells, no dropdown list appears. Data validation works when I try to incorrectly enter a value, as it prevents values that don’t exist in the second sheet/tab from being entered. However, no dropdown list appears for me to simply select the option, rather than having to type it out each time.

Any advice?
