Does not print to the Kyocera network printer in version higher than 7.4.1

Good afternoon.
There is a problem with printing to a network printer deployed on a windows server 2019 print server. When sending from any onlyoffice application, the printer does not print, asks you to select a paper tray, you have to go to the printer and press OK to confirm the selection. What is the reason why onlyoffice does not print to the network printer K?

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 8.2.2.22 (x86) or (x64)
.exe or .msi
Windows 11 pro x64 23H2

printer Kyocera M2040dn and M2735dn

Hello @doctordach

What happens right after the confirmation? Can you record a video file?

A message on the printer after it is started to print. β€œLoad the paper into the universal tray. Click OK, use the universal tray to continue.” I manually select the paper source cassette 1 - it starts printing. In the printer settings, there is an Auto paper source, if you manually set the cassette 1, the situation does not change.

I can’t upload a video

You can upload it to any cloud storage and share a link.

Thanks for the video! We are checking this situation out.

Good afternoon. Is there any progress on our request?

We haven’t reproduce the issue yet.

Can you please share some additional system settings of the printer? Interested to see Printing defaults and Advanced settings, which you can find by:

  • Open Start > Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click your printer, then click Manage.
  • Click Printer properties.
  • Go to the Advanced tab (make screenshot).
  • Click Printing Defaults (make screenshots of Layout and Paper/Quality tabs).

Also, the following:

  • any information on how the printer is set up in the network;
  • version of the printers’ driver;
  • screenshot of Tray Selection tab of the system printing dialog (after clicking print in the editor), can be found in Preferences > Printing Preferences.

The printer was added to the computer using Active Directory group policies for user groups, and the printer is deployed on the Active Directory print server.

I also have a problem when printing with a Kyocera printer. The characters which has been add up in the fill up zone to the pdf document are not print correctly, some characters are missing, the others are in a condended mode.
The Kyocera is also asking to add paper when there is some in the box.

Maybe this will help: in 7.4.1, it uses the Win11 Printing from Win32 application printing dialog box

and newer versions use the standard print window where this situation occurs

Thanks @doctordach for the information. We keep on checking the situation.

Hello @doctordach

You should start a new topic for this issue will all possible details, e.g. model of the printer, default settings, driver version, version of Desktop Editors, about your set up to review it separately.

Hello again @doctordach

We were unable to reproduce the problem so far. To get better understanding of the scenario I am asking you to provide a video demo according to following steps:

  1. Before printing form Desktop Editors open Control Panel > Devices and Printers and demonstrate all possible settings of the printer that you are using defined in these settings;
  2. After settings demonstration, go to Desktop Editors, open any file and use CTRL+P to open printing settings - from this point demonstrate any changes that you are making to this window in Desktop Editors and then press Print;
  3. In system printing dialog that appears after step 2 also demonstrate printer configuration and possible changes in the configuration before printing out the document.

Default print and printer settings. After sending it to print, the printer asks you to confirm printing by clicking OK.
By the way, I checked the printing of P7-office and there are no such problems in it.

Thank you very much, we will check the settings and run some more tests.

Good afternoon.

Through trial and error, it was found out that the program version higher than 7.4.1 is not compatible with the drivers for the Kyocera M2040dn/M2135dn MFPs and others using the KX Universal Printer Driver (v.8.3.0815) and lower versions of the KX Universal Printer Driver, when configuring the MFP as an IP or WSD network device.
It starts printing when using the Kyocera Classic Universal Printer Driver (3.3) (A4), but it is very inconvenient to use it in centralized management, and it loses a lot in terms of functionality.

Will it be possible to modify the program for compatibility with the KX Universal Printer Driver (v.8.3.0815) ???
