Document Builder 8.3 Free License

Hi everyone,

I was going through the Installing Document Builder page in the OnlyOffice documentation and noticed a couple of important updates.

Besides the change in the installation method (up to version 8.2.0 you could install it through .dev and .rpm packages and in the latest version the installation is with .tar.xz files), there’s now a WARNING stating that the free version of the tool will add a watermark to all generated documents.

I have a few questions about this:

1. Will older versions of Document Builder (using the free license) continue to work without adding a watermark?
2. Are there any other new limitations or feature restrictions in the latest free version?
3. Is there any plans to restrict some functionalities of the document builder?

Would appreciate any insights or clarification on this. Thanks!

Yes, versions prior 8.3 will work without watermarks.

If “latest free” in your description means v8.2, then no, no changes whatsoever. If you are talking about v8.3, then only watermarks are used in unregistered product.

No, there are no such plans.
