Hello @kjdfngrt,
Does this occur with all documents or just a particular one?
Hi @DmitriiV,
This has not been consistently reproducible (even within a particular document). I’ve not been able to find a correlation for it yet. Might just be a FYI for now.
Hi @DmitriiV,
Looked into this a bit more.
I believe what’s actually happening is that the Within setting “sticks” from previous searches.
i.e. some previous search was limited to column D. The full find menu has since been closed and a new search conduced, but searches continue to be only applied to column D. (In this case column D was hidden, essentially producing the effect as though Find was not working).
Whether a bug or feature request might be up for debate in this case. But expected behavior for me would be that when closing the full Find menu, that the settings revert to some sort of default. It’s a bit clunky to have to remember to manually clear the range after performing any search. (The UX is a bit different from WPS and Excel, where searching a specific range is achieved just by highlighting the desired cells and then running ⌘ + F, which therefore automatically clears when the selected cell changes).
Could you please still provide the screen recording of the issue reproduction steps using some other document? We haven’t been able to reproduce the issue with random spreadsheet documents - it always searches within new range, never within the old one whether the search menu is opened or closed
