No problem man, I’m glad to help you build a solid product! I’ll be doing my papers for the upcoming summer study session with the editors, in case I find something, I’ll get back here and make another comment on this thread with a video and a file attached
Hi there, wanted to drop by and make a feedback on bags and some suggestions for the current version of the editors, precisely for the text editor (9.0.0.172 (x64 exe)).
Firstly the bugs - I’ll try to thoroughly text-describe them, but please let me know if you will need a video representation and on which points. All of them are connected with the tables in the text editor.
- Select a row in a table → column break : the result - text in the left cell or in the top left, if you select multiple rows gets deleted
- Select text in a cell or multiple cells → Delete : text gets deleted, BUT the font changes to Arial_11 from whatever font and size was in the cell before
- Select text in a single cell → Ctrl+B : font changes to bold as expected ; select 2+cells in one row or multiple rows → Ctrl+B : font also changes to bold BUT you can’t invert the change by pressing Ctrl+B again - it does not change the thickness of the font back to the normal
- I don’t know whether it’s a bug or intended, but after table/column break, the font on the new line below the table changes back to Arial_11 instead of what it was like in the table or in the text ahead.
Now it’s more of a suggestions section. I’ve speed-ran my papers and while doing that noticed how my productivity could increase. This block is up to debate, I don’t know whether it’s technically possible to do some of those, but would be great to see these changes and I’d appreciate if you’d give me some thoughts on them:

It would be nice imo, if the search (Ctrl+F) function would work for comments as well.
I used to past into the comments links for the literature I’m referring to in the course work and then. When it’s time to edit and finalize the table breaks, check if the text is not hanging on the half-filled pages and stuff, I quickly went through the comments by text search (Ctrl+F) to find the links and left a reference-number. Tho here I had to find space to put a link to the source in text, then leave in here and in a couple of times, deleting links changed text lay-out on the pages, so I had to re-make table breaks decorations. -
I’d also love to see an option to copy link by left-clicking on it if it’s seen as one - with blue font and underlined text by right click → hyperlink → copy (where there are “edit” and “delete” options). If the link is put in the tiny free space in text, I oftentimes couldn’t to select it to do a copy fast enough, missing a couple of letters in the end or beginning of the link

That would be nice to be able to navigate thorough the paragraph parameters menu.
I know that now the vertical arrows are here to change parameters’ value and horizontal - to move the cursor for the right spot. For my situation, I don’t really make use of them, since in the requirements for my Uni basically all the indents and paragraph intervals are 0 except the left indent that should be 1.25 cm. So if I create any list I have to click through the parameters to re-value them back to 0. In order to optimize that process, I want either of 3 things: to make arrows lead the navigation between parameters cells, and when you change between them - every time size number is highlighted, so you’d be able to reassign the value without the need to replace the courser to change some part of the value. You can also consider make navigation with;'./
keys, since they do not impact the value of a parameter anyway. Also, you can consider the option to change default parameters of the list - whether as in the selected list (as with the text headings), or to assign and remember default values of the lists (indent parameters and interline internals) in order not to change them according with the same requirements over and over again.

Also I want to be able to somehow able to connect tables. At least with approx. the same columns’ width. With point 1 of suggestions in mind, I also had to recreate multiple rows for the tables, because if they’ll just exist together I have to delete a border from one of the tables on the connection point, in order it not to be too thick. And sometimes their columns’ width did not match exactly, even if they’re just a result of one table separation
-
And finally, I think that would also be nice, if in the menu of adding multiple rows or columns to the table
the menu would save last selected parameters. Multiple times I’ve added the same number of rows under the cursor, I did not know how many I would need and kept adding them with an increment of 10 or so. And I had to click on it again and again to change default parameters to the one I needed. Maybe add in the same space under the options of “below” of “under” the cursor, the switch to remember last selected option, so utilizing this option would be generally more flexible without forcing a user to adapt to the new “track last selected choice” thing.
Please let me know what you’re thinking about both the bugs I mentioned and the suggestions I’ve come up with. I’ll provide video representation on the bugs if you’d need a better illustration, just get back to me with which points exactly need to be presented in the vid. I use a ultra-shady online screen tracker, so if there’s no need and I can describe things via text, I’d rather go with this first
Hello @ohmin
Kindly create a separate topic for each suggestion. Your work is impressive, but it’s becoming difficult to navigate the thread when each idea requires analysis.
