Conneting Nextcloud to OnlyOffice Document server

Hi Everybody

I have an issues during integration OnlyOffice with Nextcloud.

I’ve got Nextcloud as a plesk extension and OnlyOffice on separate VM, installed as deb packet.

I tried to connect cloud with document server via local address, using self-signed sertificates with no success.

So I decided to connect it without encrypting. Performed clean install, configured, example page works from another host in network. But Nextcloud have no connection to Document server.

I edited local.json to turn off JWT check with no result.
is Anybody have any idea? where is the problem could be?

They way I got it working is documented in this thread, it might help you :man_shrugging: .

thx. but this way didn’t worked in my case.
here is local.json on my doc server

Do you realise that the local.json you pasted above is not valid JSON?

Hello @qny and @chris
First of all, @chris is right, the local.json looks strange. I believe we have to start from scratch in this case.
@qny please point me to the guide which you used for Document server installation. Also let us know your Document server, connector app and Nextcloud versions. Additionally, please run a test: go to connector app page > click Save button > make a screenshot of the result, try to open any file for editing > please share whole Document Server logs folder. It’s located here:
docker: /app/onlyoffice/DocumentServer/logs/documentserver/
deb\rpm: /var/log/onlyoffice/documentserver/
Windows: Program Files\ONLYOFFICE\DocumentServer\log

guides which used during the install are:
https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/installation/docs-community-install-ubuntu.aspx
https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/installation/docs-community-https-linux.aspx
also found this directives in threads with similar problem
this for local.json

"requestDedaults": {
        "rejectUnauthorized": false
      },
"header": "AuthorizationJwt"

and this for config.php

array (
    'verify_peer_off' => true,
    'jwt_secret' => 'secret',
    'jwt_header' => 'AuthorizationJwt',
    ),

OnlyOffice docs is comunity ed. ver. 7.3.3
connector app ver. 7.8.0
Nextcloud Hub 3 ver. 25.0.1
plesk version 18.0.51

Only Office have selfsigned cert added to trusted on Nextcloud
Nextcloud cert is from LetsEncrypt
Docserver is accesible from Nextcloud via local adress

@Nikolas posted an example local.json that you can copy and amend.

That plus these Bash scripts that come with the Debian install might help:

/usr/bin/documentserver-jwt-status.sh
/usr/bin/documentserver-update-securelink.sh

screenshot of error which appears while trying to connect to Docserver

also edited local.json as it shown in example and used scripts, still no success

However the logs you posted have:

I’d suggest trying to work out why a self signed certificate is being used when you have a LetsEncrypt one.

using selfsigned certs is because of there is no ACME & HaProxy in this netwok. and only server have letsencrypt cert is Nextcloud
schematic its look like:

Hello @qny
Please show us logs from docservice folder too (converter/out.log). Also please clarify if you changed your local.json life.

Hello Alexadre
yes, local.json file was edited like in example in reply by Chris

I believe such lines are related to DNS\network rules on your side. If it’s possible, please recheck your settings and make sure that domain name resolves to correct ip address. Additionally, please run a test: go to default.json file > “rejectUnauthorized”: true > change it to false and restart all services with systemctl restart ds-* command (I see, you tried to perform this step earlier, but it looks there was an issue in your syntax:

"requestDedaults": {  -  >>>>> "requestDefaults": {

        "rejectUnauthorized": false
      },

Also I believe it’s better to perform this step in default.json, there’s no necessity to move this option to local.json.

By the way, is it possible to grant both side free access to the Internet just for a test? If I understand your scheme right, both sides (Nextcloud and Document server) are located in the same network, but probably you have proxy-server in front of them. If so, we can check out if proxy interferes to the situation.
