Conditional formatting - Column Headers (Months)

I have a budget worksheet with no dates, only monthly columns. So the column headers read “April” to “March” along the top.

My goal is to have the worksheet highlight the column corresponding to the actual month we’re currently in.

Also, is there a particular way I should enter the months into the cells? Originally, I had them in text format but then realised it probably needed to be in date format.

Could you please provide us with mentioned file and detailed description of your desired scenario (probably draw a scheme)?

Number format list contains ‘more format’ option. Is it what you are looking for?
