Brochure suggestions 8/22: no tabs in tables

Hello,
This is a part of my Post Experience and suggestions with creating a brochure - #2 by Nikolas where I collected my experiences with Only Office. I was bidden to split my suggestions in single pieces. So here you go:

Hindrances:
8. No tabs can be inserted in the table (e.g. for right-aligned text) because the focus jumps to the next cell when the tab key is pressed. However, copy and paste from another part of the text works.

I didn’t fully understand the problem you’re describing:

I understand your issue. I’ve passed it on to my colleagues. I’ll let you know as soon as I receive information regarding your question!

@ToxyLT :wave:
The behavior of pressing a tab in table cells is similar to MS Word and LibreOffice.

This behavior is already familiar to users, and at this point, the decision has been made not to change it.

hello Nikolas,

the behavior of MS Word and LibreOffice is the same when pressing TAB.
but (at least MS Word) allows to enter TAB in a table cell by Pressing CTRL+TAB.
OO Editors is switching the tab in the editor (ie. next document)

either way … is there a(nother) workaround for inserting a TAB in a cell of a tabel?

Dear @ak13
Unfortunately, currently the only way to insert tabs in tables is copying and pasting them. However, I do believe that there will be more suitable workaround solution available. Right now we are working on implementing custom hotkeys feature. Once it is implemented, you will be able to assign the TAB function to any hotkey combination.
Please accept our sincere apologies for inconvenience.

thanks for your reply … and workaround hint.
