'Auto-save' and 'Quit'

When a document is closed via ‘x’ or the File dropdown menu, a notification/alert prompts whether to save if there have been changes since the last ‘save’,

Is there also an auto-save feature that is operative in Desktop Editors (“Docs”)?

And if the app is ‘Quit’ are there similar prompts about saving changes made since the last save?

Yes, there are prompts for the above-mentioned cases. There is no global auto-save available for Desktop Editors (please note, that Docs is a different product which is integrated with Document Management Systems, automatic saving can be enabled there), only Save Auto-Recover information setting in Advanced Settings (which allows to restore a copy of a document in case of unexpected document closure, but it is not the actual document saving)
