Asynchronous UI lag (spreadsheets)

There is an (asynchronous) UI lag in macOS desktop app (at least with spreadsheets).

Utilizing find (⌘-F) experiences a UI lag (approx 1 sec) in opening the search dialogue box. The more serious issue is that the lag is asynchronous to user’s follow-on actions… meaning:

You type ⌘-F to begin search, and then begin typing your search query, and instead you actually begin OVERWRITING cell contents because your typing is not queued properly waiting for the search dialogue to open. This introduces a fairly serious vector for corrupting spreadsheet data. Elevates beyond a nuisance issue, IMO.

Please additionally specify following details:

  • architecture of your macOS device (Intel or Apple Silicon);
  • whether this behavior occurs in specific files or in new empty spreadsheets too.

If possible, please also record a video demo of the issue for better visual understanding of it and share here in the thread.
