And its web application
Hello @govindagupta07
Please start a new topic for this query. It does not seem to be related to the general RTL support after all, but to the issues with document language.
Also please note that this version is outdated. I recommend updating to the actual version 8.2.2 and checking out the situation again before submitting new topic.
I have a copy. 8.2.2.22 have installed it, but unfortunately there is still a problem with the word upside down in the spreadsheet section, or Excel. How long will this problem be fixed? I really need a fix for this issue.
I hope this problem is resolved soon by the good team of this company, because we have many clients who have been directly involved in this issue and there has been a lot of dissatisfaction.
If you are representing a company that utilizes ONLYOFFICE Docs in their app and you have active license, then you should contact our Sales Department to discuss the speed-up query:
I am using the free version of this software and have connected it to Nextcloud
I have installed it directly on Debian Linux version 12.
The latest version is 8.2.2.22.
What should I do to fix the problem of Persian language being written upside down in the spreadsheet?
@hghaderi As the discussion on Persian language has been started in this separate topic, let’s continue it there

Hello Hussam,
Could you please, specify the OS where you have installed Docs?
Please, send us a screenshots how the Arabic fonts are displayed.
ALT+Enter function to add new line in spreadsheet:
Please, make sure that the cursor is moving inside the cell, not just the cell is selected. If still does not work , specify the browser you use, and try this function in incognito mode
Dear Ali,
Below is my answer to your question.
** Could you please, specify the OS where you have installed Docs?**
The OS is Arch Linux. The source of the ONLYOFFICE in the following link.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/onlyoffice-bin
** Please, send us a screenshots how the Arabic fonts are displayed**.
Attached is the screenshot of the two ONLYOFFICE Program. As you can see the Arabic character appear as square in the two documents ( The Word and The Excel).
ALT+Enter function to add new line in spreadsheet:
Please, make sure that the cursor is moving inside the cell, not just the cell is selected. If still does not work , specify the browser you use, and try this function in incognito mode
First I am not using any browser because I am using OnlyOffice for the PC computer under Arch Linux as I mentioned above. Also I tried this function in the same way as it is working in MS Excel " ALT+Enter function, when I am writing in side the cell". Finally, please explain, what do you mean by “try this function in incognito mode”?
If you have any questions please let me know.
Regards,
Hossam
Hello Hossam,
Thank you for the update.
For the Arabic font issues, if the font is not installed on your device, then its display could be not correct. To avoid such issues, please install the Arabic fonts you usually use following this guide:
Adding new fonts to ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors - ONLYOFFICE
You can find free fonts at:
خطوط عربية، بنوط/فونتات، للمعاينة والتحميل
For the issue with ( Alt+ Enter ) in Spreadsheet editor, we could not reproduce it on our side, please, make sure to update to the new version 8.3 which should be launched today, and check whether this issue persists
Thanks Ali…
You didn’t answer this point (Finally, please explain, what do you mean by “try this function in incognito mode”?)
appreciate if you provide an answer to it.
Hello @Hossam
I believe they were referring to the Incognito Mode of a browser, but as I can see you are using Desktop Editors, so you can ignore that advice.
As for the ALT+Enter issue: did you manage to reproduce the issue after updating to the version 8.3?
Hello,
Unfortunately, I didn’t install the ONLYOFFICE version 8.3 till now. Once I do it, I will try the ALT+Enter issue and get you back inshallah.
Hello OnlyOffice Team, @Constantine ,
After installing the ONLYOFFICE version [8.2.2.22] (deb), my OS fonts have been changed, my PostgreSQL DB version has been changed, and I got the attached error when I tried to take a backup from the DB.
So, I need to plan for any impact on my OS or the installed programs before installing ONLYOFFICE version 8.3.
I would appreciate it if you could send me the list of ONLYOFFICE/DesktopEditors dependencies (the additional software components required for an application to install and run) or direct me to where I can find them with their descriptions on your website.
Your support is highly appreciated.
Regrets,
Hossam
Please start a new topic on the issue you’ve faced during an update/installation. This topic is related to RTL support, it is better not to mix up different topics. Thank you for understanding.
Hello Constantine,
Done. Following is the link of the new topic.

Hello OnlyOffice Team, @Constantine.
The ALT + Enter function isn’t working in version 8.3. It move the cursor to the below sell in the same column instead of make a new line in the same cell.

Dear Ali,
sorry for being delay in reply…
For the first issue "Arabic font " I am little bet confused because the Arabic font is appear correctly in formula field but appear like ??? in the sheet’s Cells, as you can see in the screen shot, which mean the font is installed in the OS.
For the second issue ( Alt+ Enter ) it’s not working in the new version (8.3).
