There is definitely a lack of instruments in Onlyoffice to work with active fields (fields that change content based on reference source). Imagine that you prepare a template for a regulatory document with 50 - 100 pages with several sections both portait and landscape. This document has typical structure and contents and some common text, but any text in a document can be edited.
People who use this template may prepare regulatory document for a long time, send it for several rounds of review and when the documant is almost finalised they need to type date and version of a document to the title page and headings of all sections in a document. The same information may occure in up to 10 places all over the document. To avoid several copy and paste rounds active fields would be very helpful.
MS Word have this functionality. In a template you may insert active fields (DocProperty) to all headings of all sections in a documant and on a title page. When you need to change document version and date you change document property and update all the fields. Therefore copy and paste rounds are not needed.
There are other examples of use of such functionality with 100+ places for change. Autoreplace function is a risky alternative to active fields as autoreplace function needs supervision to avoid unneccesary replacements.
When functionality to work with active fields may be expected in Onlyoffice?
