RTL Table

It would be fantastic if you could add a Right-to-Left (RTL) table option. So when I press the Tab key, the cursor jumps to the next box on the left. Since my language is RTL, the only issue I encounter with OnlyOffice documents is this. Additionally, it would be great if I could convert a Left-to-Right (LTR) table to an RTL one. I can accomplish this in Microsoft Word by accessing the table properties menu.

Make sure you’re using the latest version of Document Server (9.0.2), as this functionality is already supported.

In the spreadsheet editor, apply the option Layout tab > Sheet Right-to-Left, then navigate between cells using the Tab and Shift+Tab keyboard shortcuts. (as shown on the screenshot)

• Pressing Tab in an RTL sheet will move the selection to the next cell on the left.
• Pressing Shift+Tab will move it back to the previous cell on the right.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I am aware of this feature in the spreadsheet. What I suggested was for the Tables in Documents. When I insert a table in a document, it is LTR. When I press the Tab key, the cursor jumps to the box to its right. In Microsoft Word, I can choose this table to be LTR or RTL.

Hello @rraiszadeh ! What you are talking about is already on this Topic, work seem in progress… I mean, with the last version 9, many points on this topic has already been fixed…

Sure! In RTL layouts, everything starts from the right… just like Arabic or Farsi text. So, when I create a table in an RTL document, the first cell, logically and visually should appear on the top-right, not the top-left. I have included examples from LibreOffice and Microsoft Office, where RTL tables correctly start from the right. OnlyOffice, however, still starts the table from the left, even in an RTL document; which breaks the natural writing flow and feels backward for RTL users. Imagine…

Oh, I didn’t realize right away that you were talking about tables in the document editor.

Yes, that functionality is not yet available, and @Yassine is right - it’s still in development. I’ve added you to the list of people waiting for this feature.
